Construction of the temple began around 350 BC in what is now Turkey, to honor the Goddess Artemis, known as Diana to the Romans. The temple measured 350 feet long and 165 feet wide with columns 60 feet tall. It survived over 500 years, destroyed by the Goths in 262 AD.
