The Cairn Terrier is an alert, intelligent, active and long-lived. They are small enough to be carried anywhere and sturdy enough for rough-housing with children. They are best suited to a home where they will be reared with a firm, consistent discipline.

The Canaan is alert, vigilant, devoted and docile with his family. They are reserved and at times unfriendly towards strangers. They are highly territorial, serving as a responsive companion and natural guardian that are easy to train. 

The Cardigan is even-tempered, loyal, affectionate, and adaptable, never shy or vicious. Cardigans have a special affinity for children and will adapt their playing to fit a child, senior citizen or even the handicapped. He is a handsome and powerful dog, capable of both speed and endurance.

An absolutely sweet and loveable animal that is great around children and other pets. They have reasonable intelligence and are quite shy and nervous around strangers. Apartment living is suitable for this dog, a wonderful companion or family dog.

A highly intelligent dog that is completely anti-social. Does not seem to like anyone but the immediate family as long as it does not contain any children. Yappy and hard to train this dog is best suited for elderly people living in apartments that are totally sound-proof.

The Chinese Crested is usually happy and alert. They are loyal and affectionate dogs who make wonderful, playful, and entertaining companions. These dogs are sweet, lively, playful and cuddly. There are two types of Chinese Crested, hairless and Powder Puff (long haired).

Bred for fighting this dog and can be very aggressive, even to its master. A very good guard/protection dog. Not a good choice around children, strangers or other pets. They have some medical issues relating to their breeding.

A one person dog that is not good with children, strangers or other pets. A good guard dog as it is very sensitive to strange sounds. Very cute and cuddly when young but as they age they can become a nightmare.

The Clumber Spaniel is a gentle, loyal and affectionate dog. He possesses a natural desire to please. A dog of dignity, the Clumber Spaniel may sometimes seem aloof with people unknown to him, but in time he will display his playful and loving nature.

Highly intelligent but somewhat difficult to train. Reasonably good with children if raised with them, not bad with strangers or other pets. Many Cockers have been improperly bred and as a result have behavioral disorders. Recommended only if purchased from reputable breeder.

A highly intelligent dog that is quite easy to train. Good around children. Will tolerate strangers and other pets but has a tendency to chase as they were bred for herding. The Collie is an excellent guardian and family dog that seems to be particularly fond of small children.

Self-confident, steadfast and proud, this active, intelligent dog is a charming and gentle family companion and a determined, durable hunter. The Curly is alert, biddable and responsive to family and friends, whether at home or in the field.
