The Tibetan Mastiff is very protective and territorial. Even-tempered, calm and thoughtful. Dignified and very loyal to its own family. It is by and large loving with children but, distrusts and is reserved with strangers. Brave and fearless when properly socialized. Somewhat strong-willed and very determined, but with a desire to please. Patient and highly intelligent it was bred to take initiative.
 

Average Height: 26 Inches

Average Weight: 160 Pounds
Health Issues: CIDN (serious), hip, skin, thyroid problems, ear infections.
Training: Must be trained by someone quite familiar with this breed.
Living Conditions: Requires at least a large yard.
Life Expectancy: 12 - 15 Years

This breed is a loyal, outgoing and devoted dog that needs a large amount of attention from their owners. They are responsive, clever and will be a bit harder to train as they can be stubborn, so will need an owner who is patient and consistent. The Tibetan Spaniel will make great family pets because they interact very well with children and will get along well with other dogs and family pets.

Health Issues: Breathing problems.
Training: Stubborn, therefore at times difficult to train.
Living Conditions: A good apartment dog.

Training: Somewhat difficult to train.
Living Conditions: Okay for an apartment although a small yard would be preferable.
