A skyscraper on Fifth Avenue, New York City, USA, which was
for quite some time the tallest building in the world. When first erected
in 1930-31, it measured 381 m (1,250 ft); the addition of a television
mast in 1951 brought its height to 449 m (1,472 ft). It is named after New
York, the 'Empire State'. |
