Writer, born in Charlton, Kent, England. He studied at London, worked for an oil company (1890–1908), then devoted himself to writing. His first work, Songs of Childhood (1902), was under the pseudonym of Walter Ramal. He wrote several volumes of poetry, novels, and short stories, including the prose romance Henry Brocken (1904), the poetic collection The Listeners (1912), and his fantastic novel Memoirs of a Midget (1921). |
