Painter, born 1445 in Città della Pieve, Umbria, Italy. He established himself
in Perugia, and had Raphael as a pupil in Florence (1486–1499). He painted
several frescoes in the Sistine Chapel at Rome, notably ‘The Giving of the Keys
to St Peter’ (1489). |
