| A bridge over the River Thames in London. Opened in 1894 and designed in the gothic style by John Wolfe-Barry (engineer) and Sir Horace Jones (architect) to complement the nearby Tower of London, it has a central portion that lifts to allow large ships to pass through it into the Pool of London. The original hydraulic mechanism for opening the bridge was electrified in 1976. | ||
